Hm… You guys seem to think marches aren't relaxing. I can still study to high bpm or well know classical music. The ones that get me are the more modern… Weird classical music that doesn't have a steady tempo. And shostakovich
When you said that Mars was one of the few pieces where you wish you were a brass player, I thought in my head “Dvorak Symphony 9?” AND THATS LITERALLY THE NEXT PIECE LOL
For me it is kinda sad, that when people talk about Shostakovich, they always mention that 8-Th string quartet. Of course it is great, but the best examples are his symphonies; 5-th symphony ( especially 4-Th movement), 7-th, 8-th, 10-th, 11-th, 12… Shostakovich is a great composer and it is much better to show people his best and most powerful works, not the string quartets
I remember in my band class a few years back, we played Jupiter, and through that I found and listened to Mars. I listen to both all the time and I can't help but get so hyped up whenver Iisten to Mars. It's one of the pieces I always point to when trying to prove classical isn't boring
I was never one for classical music until I started playing the violin 🎻 and then I found your channel!! My perspective on classical music has changed so much it’s crazy 😝
0:43 1# Rite of Spring – Stravinsky 1:37 2# Piano Sonata No. 7, III Preciptitato – Prokofiev 2:55 3# 1812 Overture – Tchaikovsky 5:05 4# The Planets, I Mars, Bringer of War – Holst 6:23 5# Symphony No. 9 IV, Allegro con fuoco – Dvorak 7:22 6# Ride of the Valkyries – Wagner 8:15 7# String Quartet No. 8 – Shostakovich 10:20 8# Four Seasons, Winter – Vivaldi 11:24 9# Requiem, Dies Irae – Verdi
As a metalhead, I totally agree that there are some real banging classical pieces, and here are a couple additions to mosh/headbang to: Suppé's Light Cavalry Overture, impossible to listen to without moshing or at least headbanging (especially when 'that' part starts). Strauss' Unter Donner und Blitz, really demands your body to start moving. Khachaturian's Sabre Dance, from Gayane Suite 2, definitely anything but relaxing. Dvorák's 8 Slavonic Dances, Op 46, no 8 in G Minor, hits instantly… and hard..
Scriabin's piano works. I love them, but that's all you're concentrating on, and wear headphones late at night, because it'll piss off your neighbors. Anything by Glenn Branca, too. If you're not playing it loud enough to rattle your house, it's not loud enough. (Cool works, though.)
I think Schoenberg (string trio, string quartet 3, or really most of his works), Bartok, or maybe even Messiaen (turangalila symhpony) could've been mentioned.
There is an aria from Vivaldi's Juditha Triumphans – Armatae Face et Anguibus. This is pure anger and fury channeled into music. I especially love when Cecilia Bartoli performs it with her impeccable and emotional FURIAE! FURIAE!! FURIAE!!!
mars is the best study music wdym

Apparently my conductor loves uncalming classical music

I'm a metalhead, of course I lost with banging 😑🤘🏻
What about the Shos symphonies?? 7th Symphony 1st mvt? 11th 4th mvt.. 5th 4th mvt!
When you said that Mars was one of the few pieces where you wish you were a brass player, I thought in my head “Dvorak Symphony 9?” AND THATS LITERALLY THE NEXT PIECE LOL
I use classical music while I study. Not because I want to be relaxed! Because the pieces I listen to get me absolutely pumped!
May I suggest the last min of Shostakovich 10

Winter wind by Chopin fits this perfectly
0:43 1# Rite of Spring – Stravinsky
1:37 2# Piano Sonata No. 7, III Preciptitato – Prokofiev
2:55 3# 1812 Overture – Tchaikovsky
5:05 4# The Planets, I Mars, Bringer of War – Holst
6:23 5# Symphony No. 9 IV, Allegro con fuoco – Dvorak
7:22 6# Ride of the Valkyries – Wagner
8:15 7# String Quartet No. 8 – Shostakovich
10:20 8# Four Seasons, Winter – Vivaldi
11:24 9# Requiem, Dies Irae – Verdi

I just opened video and if tchaikovsky wasnt here im gonna unsubscribe

There's no piece of music across any genre that gets me as hyped up as Chopin's Polonaise 53, especially the Horowitz recording 👌

Roman Kim would play all of these on his own with his teeth the alien style……..
Wrath of Khan score was influenced heavily by Mars.

What about erlkönig schubert ????
ok but mars by holst enables me to get my homework done faster than the speed of light and you can't change my antics otherwise.

Just show is Liszt etudes.
That works too.
Is it just me that thinks they should react to some Cody Fry stuff?
My personal favorite: Chopin Étude Op. 25, No. 11 (winter wind)
Day 7 of me trying to wipe my screen because of the stains on the wall
6:57 yooooooo!!??? Forget about jaws this whole time this piece/song was in the movie animated BARBIE movies. 😭😭✋ I kept asking myself how I knew it.
2112 by Rush contains a slight variation of the 1812 overture (the part played when there is the cannon)!
