Apple has announced the most comprehensive upgrade to its App Store pricing system, which provides developers worldwide with 700 additional price points and new pricing tools. In Malaysia, App Store developers can now charge a minimum of 90 sen and up to a maximum of RM49,999.
In a statement yesterday (6 December 2022), Apple said that the enhanced pricing options will be available to all transactions at the App Store by spring 2023, which is around September. The change also comes with new capabilities intended to make it easier for those offering their wares to manage sales, returns, taxes and other features.
The tech giant further clarified that these newly announced tools will begin rolling out today and continue throughout next year will create even more flexibility for developers to price their products. Moreover, it would also allow developers to still stay approachable to the hundreds of millions of users Apple serves worldwide.
Under the updated pricing system, developers will be able to choose from 900 price points, which is nearly 10 times the number of pricing options previously available for app makers.
